MISSION STATEMENT

The Firm was founded more than 125 years ago in 1877 when Mr Albert Spencer Thursfield set up practice in Kidderminster. He was joined by his son, Colonel J H T Thursfield in 1919. Col. Thursfields’ son - Mr Mark Thursfield also joined the practice and only recently retired from the Firm. Over the years the Firm has merged with other practices such as Adams, Westons, Luke Grant, Abel Desmond and Holder.

Thursfields’ Mission and Aims are set out in the Firm’s Business Plan and are:

“To resolve the legal problems and needs of all clients providing expert legal advice delivered through our quality-based management system.” In so doing we aim to:

• ensure excellence in the service delivered to our clients, and
• ensure job satisfaction and appropriate remuneration levels on behalf of all members of our Firm,
• and achieve equal opportunities for all, and
• provide a sound financial platform from which the future of the Firm can be sustained.

The Partners seek to generate sufficient income and profits to sustain and grow the business and to provide Partners and the staff with appropriate remuneration. There is an element of vocational motivation within the Partnership, that is tempered by the economic realities of managing a large multi site and expanding practice. The Partners are committed to ensuring the personal well-being of the individual and to achieve a caring culture which not only benefits the clients but enhances the job satisfaction and personal development of the workforce. The Partners believe in the principle of excellence as a means of achieving job satisfaction. Staff are given the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities and take development opportunities as they arise.

We offer a wide range of legal services to both private and commercial clients. Thursfields prides itself on delivering high quality personal and friendly services. The Firm is organised into Departments to deliver the services including:

• Business and Commercial Property - company, partnership, property transactions and debt collection
• Property - buying, selling, landlord and tenant, tax, litigation, leasing and mortgages
• Litigation - breach of contract, personal injury claims, employment law
• Family - divorce, maintenance, children, and child care, domestic violence injunctions
• Probate, Tax and Trusts - administration of estates, wills and financial planning
• Crime - defence at Crown Court and Magistrates Court, advice at Police Station
• Mental health – review tribunals, compulsory detention, advice at Police Station

The Firm has 16 Partners and over 110 fee earners and staff which operate out of 5 office buildings at:-

• 14 & 27 Church Street, Kidderminster
• 55 Oxford Street, Kidderminster
• 42 & 43 Foregate Street, Worcester
• The Old Inspector’s House, Stourport on Severn
