Lawyers go the distance...
Not one, but three of Thursfields Solicitors Commercial Services Team based in Worcestershire are planning to run the Marathon later this month all in a good cause.
Mark Pittaway, Head of the Commercial Services Department, is a Marathon veteran having completed 10 marathons and has an impressive personal best time of 2 hours 44 mins. This year, he has been coaching two of his team for marathon success, both of whom started running less than 18 months ago and are hoping to complete the marathon in around 4 hours.
Michelle Chamberlain, Employment Law Solicitor at Thursfields and mother of three took up running after a challenge from her family last Christmas to run a marathon. She will be raising funds for Educaid Sierra Leone which runs four schools providing free education to children in Sierra Leone (www.educaid.org.uk).
Jacqui Pittaway, Litigation Executive at Thursfields and also a mother of three is raising funds for Cancer Research, having lost her grandfather to cancer. As well as training for the marathon, Jacqui has been busy preparing for her wedding which took place in February. But as her fiancé was Mark, there were no excuses for not training, even on honeymoon in Rome. Jacqui commented: “Thankfully, Rome is a beautiful city, to run around.”
